Licenses A-G

64 charts total, 16 played (0 sub-A, 0 A-, 1 A, 2 A+, 4 S, 9 FC)

Very popular songs or songs that sound mainstream. Because there are so many they're split into three folders.

Hey Ya - Outkast

BPM: 159

x2 x4 x6 x9

Score (Expert): 9.46 (A+) (25 Feb 2022)

Expert Notes: Not a 9 until near the end. It's fast but not that streamy to starr with. You're mostly following his voice. The problem is the stepjumps, which are all hard to execute. At the "so why-oh why-oh" part there's two sets of R-LD-D-DR-D notes (the second one's mirrored) that are basically why I haven't FC'd. They're even worse than doing the candles with one foot in the last chorus. There's the usual jacks and crossovers too. I considered making this a bounty but it's not quite that bad.

How Bizarre - OMC

BPM: 125

x2 x4 x5 x7

Score (Expert): 10 (FC) (7 Jan 2022)

Expert Notes: All the other Chewi files here were underrated IMO but this one's the opposite. Besides some sneaky crossovers it's a simple chart. There's spins on some of the "every time I look around" parts, I love cheesy jokes like that.

I Will Survive - AKIRA ft. Daline

BPM: 132

x2 x3 x6 x7

Score (Expert): 10 (FC) (7 Jan 2022)

Expert Notes: Streamy with a lot of crossovers but not much else. The gallops are a problem; you either have to hit them crossed over or jump to hit them, which are both a lot for a 7. I know they charted the original but I think this is one of DDR's better covers so I used it instead. Definitely a hard 7.

Karma Chameleon - Happy Happy Cores

BPM: 196

x1 x4 x6 x8

Score (Expert): 10 (FC) (2 Mar 2022)

Expert Notes: Constant 4ths but not many 8ths, it's more like a very hard 93 BPM. The end of the first verse is the hardest part, lots of little triplets. In the chorus you have to hit notes during freezes, you have to swing your foot a bit. This time I do wish someone had the original. Also with all the drums I'm surprised no one made a 17 or 18-foot edit, not that I could play it.

Kids - MGMT

BPM: 123

x1 x2 x4 x7

Score (Expert): 10 (FC) (28 Jan 2022)

Expert Notes: Crossovers and jacks, but not very dense. There are big gaps between streams which makes sense if you know the song (you don't dance to the bass synth). Dad drove me to/from school through 10th grade and this was on his playlist back then. That was the last time I listened to radio regularly, and since that was years ago now I don't know a lot of new songs. That was probably obvious from my songlist though :)
